We have a lot of responsibilities in the world and we feel obligated to support and nourish just about everybody and their uncle. It is time to realize that half of the duties we feel are ours, are actually not ours to bear at all. If we want the people around us to grow up and become strong and independent, we need to acknowledge their autonomy. Reclusive, hidden in our cave, we want to spend time with our own thoughts and ideas. In itself this is not a bad thing but today we are warned not to overdo it. If we spend to much time on our own we become the weird one, the person with the singular ideas that seems to loose touch with reality. In short, 'weird' in the old meaning of 'wise and spiritually inclined' is okay, but 'weird' in the modern meaning of 'strange and uncanny' is a label we might want to avoid!
