The Crystal Skull is warning us today not to get stuck in antiquated ideas. Just because an idea is old doesn't mean it is right! So let us do some soul-searching here; are we holding on to convictions that have outlived their usefulness? Do we allow principles from the past to stand in the way of our future? Time to unstuck ourselves and free up our mental capacities to embrace new and useful ideas!

We invested our time, our money and our best efforts in our  'children', both literally and figuratively, and now it's time to let them go. Whether we are talking about actual children or whether we are referring to our projects, our creations or our students doesn't change the outcome; we did what we could and now it is time for us to let them go. We just have to be confident that we gave them all they needed to be able to stand on their own two feet.

"If only I had the talent", or, "I will never be as good as..." We are our own worst critics, we don't dare to take up painting, or to sing or to dance and constantly worrying if the result is aesthetically pleasing to others. If only we could be playful and creative like a child every now and again, enjoying ourselves without holding back! It is important to create moments in our lives in which we can express ourselves, unencumbered, without boundaries, as free as a the Gods intended us to be. Let's find s moment of creative joy today and let making moments like that into a hobby! 

Today's theme is about protecting our boundaries. The Father coin is here to help us with the task. This particular cast can sometimes be very literal in it's meaning, in which case it refers to an actual, benign father-figure in our lives that has made us feel safe and protected. In that case it might be a good idea to pay this person a visit if we can. Let us be thankful for every border that protects us and for the people that maintain them. And if nobody does the protecting for us, we need to put up our own boundaries and protect them ourselves, whatever other people may think about it. Safety is to important an issue to be overrun by good manners.

We cast the Honeybee together with Zenith and the Ally: a sure sign that the social groups we belong to are on our mind. In my country the elections are upcoming and people are redefining their role within the collective. It is tempting but far too easy to attribute our hardships to 'the others', whether they are racially, politically, sexually or philosophically different than 'we' are. And we see this happening, not only in my country but all over the world. 'We' want to blame 'them', and if 'they' just go away/behave themselves, would be 'normal' (like we are) the world would be a better place. The daily cast urges us to contemplate our own role within the collective. Are we being helpful? Do we personally make the world a better place for everybody? What can we do to make it so? Let us realise that we are all 'different' to someone and let us ponder our ideas about exclusion versus inclusion.

The Sword cuts away what isn't needed anymore, uncovering that what matters. It's like weeding: take away what is not wanted and give room to what is wanted. We need to decide on something. No more contemplating or weighing pros and cons: it is time to come to an conclusion. And remember: not taking action is also a choice, but one in which we allowed our agency to dissipate, leaving us no other option than to follow somebody else's decision. We might as well take matters in our own hands, right? The Ally is on the table to empower our sword, let's do this!

We can be confronted with neglect today. Either we feel that someone who should take care of us is not doing their job, or that we are not doing it ourselves. So this is something we want to look into. We are social animals, thriving only when we nurture ourselves and the people around us. Caring for each other makes us strong, both physically and mentally but we have been tricked into thinking that we are each others rivals. We're not. 

All the hopes we have for the near future may very well come to pass, provided that we make the right preparations. Every task we want to fulfill and every goal we want to achieve is within our reach. It doesn't have to be a huge or life-changing event but it can be! Autumn has arrived - at least on my half of our planet - and I see how the squirrels in the woods surrounding me are busy gathering acorns and chestnuts to prepare for the winter thus ensuring their survival. This is the vibe I get from this daily cast: prepare for the future and you will be successful.

The Father coin in combination with the roots of the tree and the dog coin can be about boundaries and the need to protect them, or it can be about an actual father figure. Today I think this the cast is about our actual dad. This might be a troubling topic for some of my readers and I totally get that. However, the message I am picking up today is that, whatever our relationship is with our worldly father, we need to realise the following: half of his DNA is in us, as a living bridge between us and our ancestors. We do not have to either love or even honour the father-asperson, but let's make sure that cherish the ancestral legacy he brought us, because it is in that we find self-love as well. And if you are lucky enough to love your father as a person as well, than show that love today. Give him a call or bring him a visit, let him know he is important to you while you have the chance.

How will we ever grow if we can not prune the ideas that are keeping us back? Let's decide what is no longer needed and cut this out of our lives. We are like climbing roses: in order to bloom next year (= the next stage of our lives) we need to be thoroughly pruned in the autumn. And if we think about it, we know this right? We know what we want to keep in our lives and what we want to get rid of. Today we contemplate our options and we make a plan, and soon we take the scissors in hand!

We don't have to come up with all the ideas and solutions on our own. Way before we started thinking about ways of troubleshooting in our lives our ancestors already found their own ways of dealing with things. Just because an idea is old doesn't mean it's outdated... So for today, let us be inspired by the wisdom of those who walked the earth before us. There were quite a few ideas in the old days that we can benefit from today!

Last time we looked at the coins we got the exact same constellation. Apparently there is reason to worry and we are effected by it. Given the state of the world this shouldn't come as a surprise. We are challenged to keep anxiety at bay and to guard our mental health with determination. Meditate,use breathing exercises or engage in sport, anything that works for you. Whatever we are going through, individually, as a nation or even globally; this too shall pass!
